L'Enfant Jésus is a red Beaune Premier Cru which gets its name from a curious historical anecdote: in the XII century the terroir was owned by the Carmelites and it is said that Marguerite du Saint Sacrement, founder of the "Domestiques de la famille du Saint Enfant Jésus", had predicted the birth of the Sun King despite his mother being barren. Since then this terroir kept the name Enfant Jésus. Peck recommends this wine to those looking for an intense velvety wine, characterised by a mix of fruits and spices and a hint of boisé.
