Description
The monks' millenary experience in the abbey of Moggio Udinese comes to us through this Italian dairy jewel, aged Montasio.
Produced since 1200, at first with ovine milk and today only with cow milk, it owes its name to the homonymous massif, where the green pastures spread.
They guarantee unique milk with special organoleptic characteristics.
Selected raw materials, craftwork techniques and a great experience in ageing are the elements at the basis of Montasio, today protected by a consortium for its singularity.
The semi - aged quality was subject to a long ageing process - between 5 and 10 months - and therefore its taste is slightly spicy and aromatic, yet with milk notes of fresh Montasio.
To be tasted on its own, it is ideal to enrich a high -quality regional cheese selection and to enjoy with a dry white wine.
