Description| In Peck's wine cellar you can find unique wines that tell the history of Italian winemaking. Angelo Gaja revolutionised the wine making methods in Piedmont from the 1960's onwards. Sperss is the name of a vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba bought by Gaja in 1988. Sperss ages for 12 months in barriques and for a further 12 months in large traditional barrels; it is an austere, rounded, full-bodied textured wine with a rigidity that is well balanced with an excellent fruity component. Peck recommends it to those who appreciate wines which age well in bottles.
